Braslaŭ (also spelled Braslav) and Braslaŭ district

A few hours in Braslaŭ will suffice for anyone to fall in love with this place. The Castle Hill is the most ancient spot in the town. It also offers wonderful panoramic view of the vicinities. The Church of the Nativity of Virgin Mary keeps the icon of Virgin Mary of Braslav, the first coronated icon in Viciebsk region. The Assumption Church with its three-tier iconostasis by masters from Kyiv is another popular tourist sight.

Mayak Hill is the best panoramic view point in Braslavskie Ozera National Park. From here you can see the breathtaking "blue pearls" of the region, the numerous lakes.

The iconic Church of Holy Providence (Slabodka) combines features of neo-Romanesque and Gothic Revival styles. The floral patterns of the irons doors are made by local blacksmiths. The Сhurch of the Nativity of Virgin Mary (Vidza), one of the tallest churches in Belarus, fascinates with the elegant beauty of its ogives and pointed arches and unusual stained-glass windows.
