Slonim is one of the most interesting towns of Hrodna region. It has a number of well preserved historical buildings, including the Bernardines monastery and Bernardines convent, sinagogue, town hall, as well as St Andrew Church. The 19th and turn of the 20th century buildings are in harmony with the older part of town.

The vicinities are also rich in history and have plenty of monuments of architecture. The most important place is Zhirovichi, famous for the  stauropegic Assumption monastery. It has been functioning ever since late 16th century when the miraculous icon of Virgin Mary appeared here. It makes the place very popular among pilgrims.
