The International Festival of Arts Slavianski Bazaar has welcomed talented performers from different countries in Vitebsk, Belarus for more than 25 years. The festival has become a hallmark event in Belarus that brings together nations and countries and unites continents.

Every year in July, the carnival of music, theatre, choreography, circus, fine arts and cinema turns the city into a polyphonic multicultural forum.

The Slavianski Bazaar took off in Vitebsk in July 1992. It gathered more than a thousand participants from Belarus, Russia, Ukraine, the USA, Canada, Australia, Poland and Georgia. Eight years passed, and in 2000 the festival set a world record by gathering representatives of all Slavic peoples on its stage.

The Slavianski Bazaar was awarded the diplomas 'FIDOF Festival of the Year 2000' "for impeccable quality of organisation, professionalism, hospitality, and promotion of noble humanistic aims at the international level" and 'FIDOF Festival of the Year 2004'.

Its vocal contests traditionally generate the most excitement. These are Vitebsk International Pop Performers Contest and the International Children's Music Contest. Spectators are also entertained by film screenings and theatrical performances, the open-air craft market and the craft fair called the City of Masters. Every year shows sell out at Vitebsk amphitheatre on the Day of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the days of culture of the founding nations (Belarus, Russia and Ukraine) and gala concerts of famous performers. Do not miss the Festival Without Borders, Theatrical Meetings and Star Hour shows.

In 2018, 19 big shows were staged at the amphitheatre while other city venues hosted two to three events daily.

You too can plunge into the memorable atmosphere of Vitebsk, the cultural centre of Belarus. When the Games are closed, take your chance to explore the native city of Marc Chagall. Stroll along the streets where the great artist lived, enjoy the shows and feel the magic of the city.
